Pros and cons of iPeng Classic app for iPhone and iPad

iPeng Classic app good for

Could use a more minimal and intuitive interface. However, all the controls you can expect are here and it has improved well over time. Very stable.
Excellent app, specially with the purchase of "playback" function. It turned my ipod touch and my ipad into very nice network players based on Squeezecenter server running on my PC.
I use this app constantly for streaming to my hifi, whether for Internet radio or my music collection. Also great support within minutes when I once sent a support request late in the evening!
iPeng was the sole reason why I bought my iPod touch: to control my Squeezebox Receiver without having to buy the Duet remote which saved me a significant amount of money. It has not let me down and without a word of exaggeration, I use iPeng at least once a day nearly every day of the year. The app works just as it should, and once you figure out the interface (there are a few quirks but you get the hang of it quickly) it is intuitive and it just plain works. Pippin is very attentive to the feedback of his customers and the tech support in the iPeng thread of the Slimdevices forum is second to none. He really listens to his customers recommendations and only releases new versions when he has thoroughly tested them. I wholeheartedly recommend iPeng. It will not disappoint you. Please purchase it and support this hardworking developer.
Turns your iPhone into an all in one remote for Squeezecenter. Goodbye Logitech Harmony remote, and no more going to the computer to select playlists or artists. Just brilliant. Wonderful interface.
Overall I love this app, it does almost all I could ask of it. I didnt give 5/5 stars because of the price mostly- and for making us pay again to stream to our iPhones/pads/pods- I will never pay for that feature when there are free apps thatll stream my music (and more) to my iPhone.

Some bad moments

While this app works on the iPad to control a squeezebox, it is obviously still in iPhone/iPod touch format - it only opens in a little window on the iPad screen, and wont rotate to landscape view.
Latest update does not seem to support iPhone 5 screen!! Please fix this (hence 1-star). Otherwise, amazing app. Using it all the time (hence it should be back to 5-stars after the fix).
Used to work great but now works on and off just most of the time says "loading squeezebox account" but does not
I allready purchased this item... I tried to install it to another device... GOT CHARGED again 9.99 plus taxes!.... WT..F..
I really dont get all the five star reviews. Ive used all versions since it first came out. It works fine when first booted, but leave it idle for the length of a couple of tracks and too often it takes up to a minute, sometimes longer, to respond. It goes brain dead. Ive done everything in the help guide to optimize response to no avail. Cant change tracks, cant change volume. On occasion itll just stay frozen for 10 minutes then suddenly wake back up. So its love/hate for this app, though mostly hate. But theres little else on the market.
While this is a good app the latest version seems to be a crash monster .
